SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) is made up of volunteer business executives and professionals that provide Entrepreneurs and small business owners with FREE counsel, advice, and education.
The SCORE chapter was organized and chartered in1980. Since that time they have counseled over 2000 clients from the Tri-State area.
SCORE is a resource partner with the US Small Business Administration (SBA). The Tri-State SCORE Chapter is sponsored by the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce. Most of the members are retired corporate or small business executives or owners. Some members are still active in their field.
All SCORE counseling is FREE and CONFIDENTIAL. SCORE is a counseling service. Counselors advise and guide the client to make their own decisions about their business venture.
The SCORE members have a wide variety of experiences from sales, marketing, manufacturing, inventory control, production scheduling, finance, engineering to retail and other business experiences.
Counseling is available to persons wanting to go into business as well as those already in business. The chapter also has several publications and resources that the client may find useful in answering their questions.
The Tri-State Chapter, from time to time, sponsors seminars and workshops. These cover business plans, taxes, marketing, start-up preparation, as well as other subjects of interest to the clients.
